Shopping in Yangshao
We flew from Xi'an to Guilin and then took a taxi 2 hours west to Yangshao and the Yangshao Mountain Retreat. We had made a reservation at the mountain retreat in order to relax and do little for a few days. It turned out to be the perfect spot. The resort was on the Li River, surrounded by Karst mountains. The rooms were cozy and the common room perfect for relaxing with a good book or a deck of cards. There were no major tourist attractions that we felt compelled to see and the weather was a bit drizzly so even that worked in our favour. It was the rest we needed.
In our books, shopping is considered relaxing. Okay, at least for Kelly. It was raining the day we went to the market, but that kept the crowds down as well as the prices. We took a break to have tea in an upstairs restaurant to look down on the market.
We had to be a bit cautious as all the umbrellas are at about eye level. We had to keep watch to make sure we stayed clear of umbrella spokes.
