Campbell's birthday in Luang Prabang

We arrived in Luang Prabang and took a tuk-tuk to our guesthouse. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We had two huge rooms side by side. The kids called dibs on the one with twin beds and Dean and I actually got our own room.

Even though Campbell and Kelly had their own room, they seemed to show up in ours a few times!!

This is a spectacular wat right across the street from our guesthouse.

Campbell wanders down one of the many side streets in Luang Prabang.

It was drizzling when we woke up on Campbell's birthday, but we decided to take a tuk-tuk out to see the waterfall anyway. I am so glad we did. The rain stopped when we arrived and we had the whole place to ourselves.

The falls truly were amazing and we had a great morning just wandering around.

We took this photo out the back of the tuk-tuk on our way back to Luang Prabang. I think the kids on the elephant would have been happy to take a photo of we weird tourists taking photos of them.

Campbell decided on pizza for his birthday dinner. We found a restaurant with the perfect pizza and celebrated.

Then we headed off to the night market to do a bit of birthday present shopping. The market was great and there was plenty to choose from. I know it wasn't the birthday Campbell would have had at home, but I think he enjoyed himself and I'm sure he will have memories for a very long time.
