Touring around Pakse
We hired a driver and guide to take us around for the day to see the sights of Pakse. Loatians love to show you their waterfalls and we saw plenty of them during the day. Each one was very unique and very beautiful.
It is never difficult to convince Kelly to pose for anything!
This photo was taken at a second waterfall where Kelly just couldn't resist having a go at Campbell. Thankfully, it was for show only and Campbell did not end up in the water.
We were then taken to a village where everyone smokes water pipes, including the children. I feel very awkward taking photos of people when they are just going about their daily lives. It just seems so wrong to wander through a village staring at people. But I could take a photo of Kelly who managed to find a tiny puppy to pick up and cuddle. Dean managed to get some very candid shots of people, kids smoking pipes, caskets that people keep under their huts for when the day comes that they're needed, women drying rice and a whole lot more.
We ended our day with some more waterfalls and then a lovely dinner on the roof of our hotel. We overlooked the whole town and a long way down the river.
