Dinner with Friends
We discovered that the guide books really aren't kidding. Pretty much every restaurant in Vang Vieng has a TV of various proportions all playing episodes of "Friends" . The few that weren't playing "Friends" were playing "The Family Guy". So once we finally got ourselves cleaned up after our motorbiking episode (and cleaned out the drain in the shower!) we headed out for dinner.
The most popular restaurants have done away with the chairs and have replaced them with platforms of plywood covered with mattresses. This idea is great for young children and drunk or stoned young adults. For Dean and I, it wasn't the ideal seating arrangement, but we weren't about to admit that to the kids.
However, I did take this picture just so I would have an excuse to get up and stretch my legs!! We actually had a fabulous dinner and did enjoy a couple of episodes while we ate.
Let there be no doubt though that I was happy to get back to the traditional table and chairs for breakfast along the Mekong. As I look back on this, I wonder what the heck Kelly is wearing a long sleeved shirt for. Must have been morning chills.
