Careless in San Fran
We were having such a good time in San Francisco that we got a bit careless...or perhaps quite careless. On Monday morning when we were ready to head out, Dean went to get the car from the youth hostel parking lot only to find the rear window had been smashed in and the inside of the car turned upside down. At first we didn't think much had been taken, but then things began to come clear. The kids had left their iPods on the back seat, which I'm sure was just a litte too tempting for someone looking in the windows. Dean's cell phone was also missing, along with his sunglasses and Red Sox ball cap. Other than that, all our camping gear and the trash left in the back seat was all there. We put some cardboard over the window and headed out. It was a good lesson to learn and nothing too serious to worry about. Dean and I are just a bit frustrated with ourselves that we didn't think to make sure all was out of eye sight. Hopefully we will find somewhere to get the window replaced. As for the rest of the things...Dean has replaced his sunglasses and we will look for new iPods in Taiwan. Lesson learned and the trip goes on.
