Quite the bridge

It is a little difficult to see in this photo, but this bridge is being built from each side and has not yet been connected in the middle. It was just such an eerie feeling looking at the drop from the end of each side down about 500 feet to the bottom of the canyon. To top it off, we were on a very narrow and twisting road with no guard rails and nowhere to pull off, so Dean didn't get much of a look at this bridge. That suited us just fine. We discovered that the west coast is not big on guard rails even though the drops off the side of the highway are dramatic. It makes for some very tiring driving for Dean.
